Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State have officially endorsed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the party’s candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election. This decision, made at a crucial meeting held at the residence of Alhaji Yakubu Okala, the State Auditor General, signals strong support for Ododo’s continued leadership in the state.
The endorsement meeting brought together prominent party members, who expressed their unwavering commitment to ensuring Ododo’s success in the upcoming election. The gathering was marked by passionate speeches emphasizing the governor’s leadership qualities and the progress he has made in Kogi State since assuming office. Stakeholders voiced their belief that his administration is on the right path, particularly in critical areas such as agriculture, infrastructure development, security, and human capital.
Hon. John Urah, Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, praised Governor Ododo’s dedication to the welfare of the state’s citizens, particularly in fostering agricultural growth, improving security, and building vital infrastructure. Urah highlighted that Ododo’s leadership has created a more secure and economically stable environment, positioning Kogi State for future growth and prosperity. He urged the people to remain steadfast in their support for the governor’s leadership.
Alhaji Yakubu Okala, in his remarks as the host of the event, echoed the sentiments of unity and collective effort. He called for a united APC front to ensure that Governor Ododo’s vision for Kogi State is fully realized. Okala urged all party stakeholders to put aside personal differences and work together to achieve the governor’s objectives, including building on the solid foundation laid by former Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
In addition to local government leaders, Hajiya Rabietu Okute, the Honourable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, and Alhaji Suleiman Omika, the APC Zonal Chairman, also spoke at the gathering.
