Kogi CP Decorates Newly Promoted Officers, Advocates Professionalism

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, Bethrand Onuoha, has charged newly promoted officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and discipline. This call was made on Thursday during the decoration ceremony of Assistant Commissioner of Police Ochoma Thank-God and 38 other officers.

In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police William Aya, the event was described as a significant milestone for the police, celebrating the achievements of officers whose dedication and hard work earned them well-deserved promotions. The ceremony, held in Lokoja, was attended by traditional chiefs, senior officers, family members, and well-wishers.

Addressing the officers, CP Onuoha emphasized that their new ranks came with greater responsibilities. He encouraged them to embody the core values of the Force service, discipline, sacrifice, and selflessness—in their daily duties. He also expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission Chairman, Hashimu Argungu, for recognizing and rewarding the officers’ contributions.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, ACP Ochoma Thank-God expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Commission for their support. He also lauded the leadership of CP Onuoha, pledging that the newly promoted officers would double their efforts in fulfilling their mandates.

The CP acknowledged the presence of the guests and expressed appreciation for the support provided by families and communities, noting that such collaborations were vital to the success of police operations. He reiterated the commitment of the Kogi State Command to maintaining peace and order across the state.
