Baze University Adopts Kogi Annual Media Report for Academic Use

The Kogi Annual Media Performance Report is set to be adopted as a reference material for communications studies at Baze University, Abuja.

The announcement was made by the Registrar of the university, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, during an official visit by the Special Adviser on Media to the Kogi State Governor, Ismaila Isah, on Tuesday at the university’s campus in Abuja.

Professor Adeniyi commended the report as a groundbreaking contribution to media documentation and public sector communication in Nigeria. He described it as the first of its kind and emphasized its value both academically and practically.

“The Kogi Annual Media Report offers a detailed and innovative analysis of media performance at the state level. It’s a pioneering effort in public sector communication, and we believe it will provide valuable insights for our postgraduate students,” he said.

He noted that the report would serve as a core reference for students pursuing advanced studies in media, communication, and public relations, particularly in understanding how government institutions can structure and evaluate their media strategies.

In his response, Special Adviser Ismaila Isah expressed appreciation to Professor Adeniyi for his endorsement and continued support. He also acknowledged the professor’s long-standing commitment to bridging academia and practical governance through initiatives like “Gown to Town.”

“This endorsement not only validates the effort we put into the report but also strengthens the connection between public service and academic research. Weare honored to have Baze University recognize its value,” Isah said.

According to the university’s communication faculty, the report will also serve as a model for how governments can document and communicate their activities in a transparent, measurable, and accessible manner. It is expected to be integrated into coursework, seminars, and student research projects.

Plans are already underway to organize a collaborative symposium between Baze University and the Kogi State Government, where scholars, students, and media practitioners will dissect the report and explore ways to further improve public sector media accountability.

This development adds to the growing list of accolades received by the Kogi Media Team and sets a new benchmark for how state-level communications can be institutionalized in academic and professional discourse.
