European Glory at Stake as Chelsea Face Betis in Wroclaw

European glory is truly at stake as Chelsea face Betis in Wroclaw tonight, with the Premier League giants one win away from completing a historic sweep of all major UEFA competitions. Victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League final would make Chelsea the first club to secure all five major European titles, elevating their legacy among the continent’s football elite.

The Blues, led by recently appointed manager Enzo Maresca, arrive in red-hot form, having won 11 of their 12 games en route to the final. Their high-octane performances, reflected in a commanding 38–9 goal difference, have positioned them as overwhelming favourites to lift the trophy. More so, their recent domestic form saw them clinch a Champions League spot for next season, boosting confidence ahead of this European showdown.

In stark contrast, Real Betis are making their first-ever appearance in a European final. Under the experienced guidance of Manuel Pellegrini, the Andalusians finished sixth in La Liga and fought through a grueling semi-final against Fiorentina to book their place in the final. Though underdogs, Betis will draw inspiration from the chance to deliver the biggest victory in the club’s modern history.

While Chelsea are aiming to complete a trophy set, Betis are chasing a moment of glory that could redefine their European credentials. However, their inconsistent performances against Polish teams earlier in the campaign losing to Legia Warsaw and drawing with Jagiellonia Bialystok suggest they will need to raise their game significantly to match Chelsea’s tempo and quality.

The London side will be buoyed by the return of attacker Christopher Nkunku, who is fit again after a six-match injury layoff. Nicolas Jackson is also available, having served his domestic suspension, though key players like Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia remain ineligible for this competition. Despite their absence, they’ve travelled with the squad in a show of unity and support.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8 PM BST (9 PM local time) at the 40,000-seat Stadion Wroclaw. The game will be broadcast globally through authorised networks, with streaming options also available online. VAR will be active, and any outcome after 90 minutes may lead to extra-time or penalties to determine the champion.
