Confluence Tech Kicks Off in Kogi to Drive Digital Skills Dev’t

Kogi State Government, in partnership with TechEffico, has launched Confluence Tech, an initiative designed to equip young people with emerging technology skills and prepare them for opportunities in the digital economy.

The maiden edition of the three-day programme, held in Lokoja featured sessions on digital training, content creation and interactive engagements.

Speaking at the event, Head of Media at TechEfiko, Ebunoluwa Olumoroti, said the initiative was conceived to empower young people to become innovators and contributors to development of society.

Olumoroti explained that Confluence Tech would support those already in the tech space to deepen their knowledge, while also providing beginners with the foundation needed to thrive.

Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital and Creative Economy, Hon. Ismaila Umar, stated that the initiative aligns with the vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who was recently honoured as Governor of the Year in Human Capital Development.

Umar noted that the state government cannot employ everyone, hence the need to equip youths with digital and creative skills that will make them self-reliant while contributing to a future economy driven by digital skills.

He added that the establishment of the Kogi State Information Technology Development Agency (KSITDA) and the recent donation of an Innovation Centre by the Dangote Group are part of government’s effort to sustain a digitally-driven economy.
