Gov. Ododo Hails Tinubu Over Appointment of Maj-Gen. Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff

Kogi State Governor,Ahmed Usman Ododo has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Major General Waidi Shaibu, a distinguished son of Kogi State, as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Governor Ododo described the appointment as a reflection of President Tinubu’s commitment to fairness, equity, and the recognition of merit in national service.

He noted that the elevation of Major General Shaibu serves as a source of pride and inspiration to the people of Kogi State, describing him as a thoroughbred officer known for professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty.

Governor Ododo expressed confidence in the ability of the new Army Chief to strengthen the Nigerian Army and consolidate ongoing efforts to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity and improve internal security.

He assured the President of the unwavering loyalty and support of the Government and people of Kogi State towards his administration, while praying for divine wisdom, protection, and success for Major General Shaibu in his new assignment.
