Gov. Ododo Unveils Vision for Kogi’s Energy Boom

Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has laid out vision to transform Kogi State into a leading energy and industrial hub, leveraging the strategic opportunities presented by the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline.

‎Speaking at the 2025 AKK Business Development Forum held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Governor Ododo emphasized the state’s commitment to harnessing clean and affordable energy to drive industrialization, job creation and sustainable economic growth.

‎“The AKK pipeline is not just infrastructure; it is a catalyst for economic reforms, we are positioning Kogi as the preferred destination for energy-intensive industries such as fertilizer production, petrochemicals, glass manufacturing and agro-processing.”

‎The governor stressed the proactive steps his administration has taken to secure the pipeline corridor and protect ongoing gas projects, ensuring a safe and investor-friendly environment noted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and vision for Nigeria’s energy future.

‎”Kogi’s abundant natural resources, including 32 mineral deposits and vast arable land, combined with plans to establish a Free Trade Zone, will further enhance the state’s competitiveness on both national and regional levels”.

‎Governor Ododo emphasized the investments in education, particularly through the Confluence University of Science and Technology in Osara, to prepare a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of emerging industries.

‎“We are building a future where innovation, infrastructure, and investment converge to create prosperity for all Kogites, this energy boom will redefine our economy and unlock new opportunities for our people.”
