LugardTV Sends-forth 2025 Interns, Charges Them to Pursue Excellence

The management of LugardTV has held a send-forth ceremony for its 2025 set of interns, recognising their growth during the programme and charging them to pursue excellence as they transition into the media industry.

Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Kogi State and Editor-in-Chief of LugardTV, Hon. Ismaila Isah, commended the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for providing sustained support that has enabled the organization to groom young media professionals.

“The support from the State Governor has strengthened our capacity to train aspiring journalists and expand LugardTV’s human capital base,” he stated.

Hon. Isah emphasised that empowerment goes far beyond physical structures, stressing the importance of equipping young people with skills and knowledge that can transform their future. He described the opportunity presented to the interns to learn and connect to media industry as a service to the community.

“The opportunities you seek may not come first in the form of money, but they will come. Stay committed, make sacrifices, and build the right connections because journalism thrives on collaboration, not isolation,” he advised.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Adviser on Electronic Media to the First Lady of Kogi State, Mrs. Janet Samuel, congratulated the interns for successfully completing the industrial training programme. She encouraged the interns to remain focused, disciplined, and intentional as they enter the journalism profession, reminding them to balance their personal goals with the demands of the industry.

The organisation’s Human Resources Manager, Mr. Promise Obatayo, also commended the interns, urging them to continue seeking knowledge, learning from experienced professionals, and keeping an open mind as they progress in the media industry.

In separate remarks, several unit heads and coaches praised the interns for their performance. They encouraged them to keep developing their skills, maintain professional relationships, embrace collaboration, and remain resilient as they pursue advancement in the field.

Speaking on behalf of the interns, Umamat Musa expressed deep gratitude to the management of LugardTV and staff for creating a supportive, engaging, and conducive environment for learning. She expressed appreciation for the mentorship, supervision, and encouragement received by the interns throughout the programme.

As part of the ceremony, the interns were presented with certificates of completion and recommendation letters, symbolising the organisation’s confidence in their potential as they move into the larger media industry.
