Nottingham Forest have plunged deeper into managerial turmoil after sacking Sean Dyche just 114 days into his tenure, leaving the club hunting for a fourth permanent manager this season.
The decision came after a frustrating 0–0 draw at home to bottom side Wolves, a result that left Forest hovering dangerously close to the Premier League relegation zone.
Dyche, who replaced Ange Postecoglou in October, departs with Forest only three points above the drop with 12 matches remaining. In a brief statement, the club confirmed his dismissal, thanking him and his staff for their efforts and declining to offer further comment.
Dyche had been contracted to remain at the City Ground until the summer of 2027.
The 54-year-old inherited a struggling side sitting 18th after a poor start to the campaign and initially showed signs of steadying the ship.
After losing his first match, Dyche guided Forest through a promising spell that included four wins and a draw in seven games, lifting them out of the relegation places before another slump stalled momentum.
While Forest have progressed to the Europa League knockout stage and remain alive on the European front, domestic struggles have defined their season.
Early exits from both the EFL Cup and FA Cup, combined with improved form from relegation rivals, have intensified pressure at the club — and raised the prospect of an unwanted Premier League record if Forest appoints a fourth manager before the campaign ends.
