The National Youth Service Corps has released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, with activities scheduled to begin on April 22 nationwide. The announcement was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, who confirmed that the 21-day orientation exercise will hold simultaneously across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the NYSC, the orientation course will open with the reception and registration of prospective corps members from Wednesday, April 22, to Friday, April 24. The oath-taking and official swearing-in ceremony for the new batch is slated for Friday, April 24, while the three-week programme is expected to end on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The scheme noted that all camps are fully prepared to receive the new intakes.

The NYSC also cautioned prospective corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to their orientation camps. It advised them to avoid night journeys and to break their travels once it is 6 p.m., staying overnight at designated Corps Lodges, military formations, police stations, or palaces of traditional rulers before proceeding the following morning. The scheme wished all participants safe journeys as they prepare for camp.

The statement further revealed that supplementary online registration for recently uploaded prospective corps members will run from April 9 to April 11, 2026. The exercise is intended for candidates whose details were newly uploaded to the NYSC portal but who are yet to complete their registration. The scheme urged affected applicants to get their documents ready to ensure seamless processing.
