Lugard House Monthly Now Official Newsletter of Kogi Govt

…As Fanwo Becomes Chairman Editorial Board

The Kogi State Government has officially designated Lugard House Monthly as its official newsletter to strengthen government communication, documentation and information management in the state.

This was disclosed by the Editor-in-Chief of the publication and Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah in Lokoja at the weekend.

He noted that the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communications now serves as Chairman of the Editorial Board overseeing the publication.

According to him, the decision reflects the administration’s deliberate effort to institutionalise a structured framework for documenting government policies, programmes and achievements for public enlightenment and preservation of history.

He explained that Lugard House Monthly, which has now reached its 10th edition, has grown into a credible platform for chronicling the activities and developmental strides of the state government across key sectors.

Hon. Isah further disclosed that the publication is produced in partnership with the National Library of Nigeria, a collaboration aimed at ensuring proper archiving and preservation of government records for academic reference and research.

He stressed that the newsletter is not only a communication tool but also an official documentation resource designed to capture the governance journey in Kogi State in a structured and accessible form.

“This initiative is about strengthening institutional memory. It ensures that the efforts, policies and achievements of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman are properly documented and preserved for future generations,” he said.

The Editor-in-Chief added that the publication will continue to provide comprehensive coverage of government activities in sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, security, youth empowerment and social welfare as it announces a big new addition to its editorial board with the Commissioner for Information and Communications now chairman of the
board as the leader of the information management and media team of the state government.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the editorial board to maintain high standards of professionalism, accuracy and consistency, noting that the newsletter will also enhance transparency, accountability and public trust in governance.
