Paris Saint-Germain secured a record-extending 14th Ligue 1 title and a fifth straight crown after defeating fellow title contenders RC Lens.
PSG needed only a draw to officially seal the championship ahead of second-placed Lens, who started the match six points behind in the standings.
Goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Ibrahim Mbaye at Stade Bollaert-Delelis ensured the title was wrapped up with one match remaining.
“This is the sweetest and most difficult title we’ve won definitely the toughest during our three years here,” said PSG boss Luis Enrique, who has been in charge since 2023.
But Lens pushed us all the way. I remember several key moments this season, the games they managed to win and their long unbeaten runs. It made things very challenging.
PSG remain the most successful club in Ligue 1 history with 14 titles, while AS Saint-Étienne sit second on the all-time list with 10 championships.
Having now lifted the Ligue 1 trophy in 12 of the last 14 seasons, PSG will finish their domestic campaign away to rivals Paris FC on Sunday.
Attention will then turn to Europe, where the French champions face Premier League leaders Arsenal F.C. in the Champions League final on 30 May as they chase back-to-back European titles.
Lens, meanwhile, will look to end the season with silverware when they take on OGC Nice in the Coupe de France final on 22 May.
