Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Monday cast his vote in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election at his polling unit in Upogoro/Odenku Ward, Okene Local Government Area.

Speaking with journalists after voting in the primary election, Governor Ododo expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, describing the process as transparent, orderly, and a strong reflection of internal democracy within the ruling party.

“I’m very happy and excited. I feel fulfilled,” the governor said. “As you can see, the whole exercise is going on smoothly, peacefully, and in an orderly manner. This is the handwork of Mr. President, who laid the foundation for internal democracy within the party.”

The governor reiterated the commitment of the APC leadership in Kogi State to ensuring that party members are allowed to freely choose their representatives without interference or imposition.

“There is no imposition. We allow people to speak and choose those who will serve them. That is exactly what we are doing here today,” he stated.

Governor Ododo also called for unity among party members after the primary election, urging aspirants and their supporters to work together in the overall interest of the party and the state.

“I want to assure everyone that after this exercise, we will come out stronger. We are one family and we will continue to work together for the interest of our party and our people,” he added.
