Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has restated commitment to fostering an environment where all residents can thrive irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
The Governor gave the assurance while receiving leaders of the Igbo Community in Kogi State on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Lokoja.
Governor Ododo said his administration remains committed to promoting unity, peaceful coexistence, and equal opportunities for all citizens and residents of the state, stressing that Kogi’s diversity remains one of its greatest strengths.
He commended the Igbo community for its unity, transparency, enterprise, and contributions to the socio-economic development of the state, describing its members as hardworking, law-abiding, and dependable partners in the development of Kogi State.
The Governor thanked the community for its continued support for his administration and reaffirmed commitment to implementing policies that will enhance security, protect lives and property, and create a conducive atmosphere for businesses and investments to grow in all parts of the state.
He noted that the cordial relationship between the state government and the Igbo community reflects the spirit of inclusiveness and mutual respect that his administration seeks to sustain across the state.
Earlier, a leader of the Igbo Community in Kogi State, Mathew Nwafor, who led the delegation, expressed appreciation to the Governor for his support for the community, particularly the renovation of the Igbo Hall, which he described as a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to the welfare of all residents.
Nwafor also commended the Governor’s developmental strides and efforts in maintaining peace and security across the state, noting that achievements of the administration have continued to inspire confidence among the people.
He assured the Governor of the continued support and cooperation of the Igbo community, pledging massive backing for the administration and the Governor’s re-election bid in 2027.
