Iran Accuses US of Breaching Peace Agreement After Fresh Airstrikes

Iran on Saturday accused the United States of violating the peace agreement reached between both countries following fresh American airstrikes on Iranian facilities, raising fears of renewed tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Tehran described the latest attack as a “blatant violation” of the memorandum of understanding signed to end the war.

The Ministry said the strikes targeted Iranian coastal surveillance facilities and condemned them as a breach of the agreement.

The US military, however said its forces struck Iranian missile and drone storage sites and coastal radar locations on Friday in response to an Iranian attack on a cargo ship transiting the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
