Lugard House Monthly Hits One-Year Milestone

The June/July 2026 edition of Lugard House Monthly, the official newsletter of the Kogi State Government, has marked its first anniversary with the release of its 12th edition, one year after its inaugural publication in July 2025.

This was disclosed by the Editor-in-Chief of the publication and Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah, who described the journey of the newsletter as one of the positive stories of the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and a reflection of its commitment to effective public policy communication and citizen engagement.

He noted that the publication, now re-energized with the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, as Chairman of the Editorial Board, continues to serve as a credible platform for documenting government activities while promoting transparency, accountability and two-way communication with the people of Kogi State.

According to him, the latest edition focuses on the launch of the North Central Community Food Bank in Kogi State by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as part of efforts to strengthen food security and improve the welfare of vulnerable citizens across the state.

Hon. Isah explained that the publication captures the landmark initiative, which positions Kogi among the first states in Northern Nigeria to host a Community Food Bank, reinforcing the government’s commitment to reducing hunger, supporting low-income households and advancing social inclusion through strategic partnership with the Federal Government.

He stated that the lead story also reflects Governor Ododo’s commitment to programmes and policies that improve the quality of life of citizens while complementing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in addressing poverty, food insecurity, health and the wellbeing of families.

The Editor-in-Chief added that the edition showcases Kogi State’s drive for economic diversification through the solid minerals sector, highlighting efforts to empower young people with the skills and opportunities required to participate in the mining value chain, as well as government’s actions against illegal mining and tax evasion to boost revenue generation and ensure sustainable development.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Editorial Board to maintaining professionalism, accuracy and balanced reportage, noting that Lugard House Monthly will continue to document the policies, programmes and developmental strides of the Kogi State Government while strengthening public communication and engagement with citizens.
