Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, is celebrating her 49th birthday today, August 24, 2026.
The award-winning actress, popularly known as Jenifa, marked the occasion by expressing gratitude to God for another year and celebrating her remarkable journey in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Akindele has built a successful career spanning acting, filmmaking, directing and producing, becoming one of the most recognised names in Nollywood.
She rose to prominence through her role as Jenifa in the 2008 movie Jenifa, a character that became one of the most popular in Nigerian cinema. Her success with the character later led to the television series Jenifa’s Diary.
