Barcelona continued their impressive start to the season with a dominant 5-0 victory over bottom-placed Valencia.
Hansi Flick’s men wasted little time taking control of the encounter, opening the scoring after just five minutes. Lamine Yamal timed his run perfectly behind the Valencia defence before calmly converting a well-weighted through ball from Fermin Lopez.
Lopez then doubled Barcelona’s advantage with a stunning finish, firing Anthony Gordon’s lay-off into the bottom-left corner of Stole Dimitrievski’s goal. The assist marked Gordon’s fourth of the season, while Lopez also registered his fourth goal in as many league appearances.
Barcelona returned from the break with the same intensity and extended their lead when Raphinha tapped home his sixth goal of the campaign.
Lopez, who produced an outstanding display, raced through the attacking half before setting up the former Leeds winger to score his 50th goal in the Spanish top flight.
Pedri added a fourth after exchanging passes with Dani Olmo before coolly finding the back of the net. Olmo then produced another moment of quality, weaving through the Valencia midfield before releasing Yamal, who completed his brace with his fourth goal of the campaign.
The emphatic victory underlined Barcelona’s early-season dominance as Flick’s side continued their perfect run.
