Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Barr. Salami Ozigi Deedat, has inspected ongoing construction works on the major access road leading to the proposed Kogi State Airport in Zariagi, as well as the airport terminal construction site.

This is part of efforts to monitor progress and ensure that the projects conform with approved specifications and construction standards.

The inspection covers two key components of the airport development plan which are the road infrastructure required to connect the facility to the wider transport network and the terminal infrastructure being developed at the airport site.

Recall that the state government approved the dualisation of about 9.1 kilometres of the road leading to the proposed airport and mobilized the contractors to site.

The Ministry of Works has since embarked on periodic inspections to assess the progress of work on major access roads to the Airport and other facilities under construction at the project site.

The latest inspection comes against the background of substantial progress made at the airport site justifying earlier financial approvals under the funding model created by the state government for the establishment of the airport
