The Kogi State Government has handed over the newly completed library complex to the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, sustaining the vision of infrastructure development which began in the immediate past administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The facility was formally handed over to the university by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Taiye Abanika.

Speaking at the ceremony, Abanika commended the contractors for the quality of work delivered and praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for ensuring the completion and handover of the project.

He said the project demonstrates the administration’s commitment to providing critical infrastructure needed to support education and the development of CUSTECH.

Receiving the facility on behalf of the university, the Vice-Chancellor of CUSTECH, Prof. Abdulrahman Salawu, described the completion of the library as a significant milestone in the development of the institution.

Salawu commended former Governor Yahaya Bello for laying the foundation for what he said has today become one of the fastest growing state-owned universities in Nigeria, noting that the vision has been sustained by the present administration.

He commended Governor Ododo for his continued support for the university and for completing projects initiated by the previous administration.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the completion of the library further demonstrates Governor Ododo’s commitment to the growth and development of CUSTECH.

He assured that the facility would be put to effective use, particularly in promoting research, scholarship and academic excellence.
