The Management of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has announced the postponement of its 10th Convocation Ceremony, earlier scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, to Saturday, November 14, 2026.
The university disclosed the development in an official circular dated September 22, 2026, signed by the Registrar, Dr. Rebecca Amiohu Okojie, on behalf of the Management.
According to the institution, the postponement became necessary due to unforeseen circumstances arising from the clash between the original convocation date and the forthcoming Kogi State Local Government Elections.
With the new arrangement, all activities marking the 10th Convocation Ceremony will be held at the university’s Main Campus in Felele, Lokoja, Kogi State.
The university expressed regret over the change and apologised to graduating students, parents, guardians, invited dignitaries and other stakeholders for any inconvenience the adjustment may cause.
Management also appealed for the patience and continued cooperation of members of the university community and other stakeholders as preparations for the ceremony continue.
Confirming the development, the Director of the Directorate of Strategic Communication and Corporate Documentation (DSCCD), Dr. Tosin Olagunju, assured the university community and the general public that arrangements for a hitch-free convocation remain on course.
Graduating students and other stakeholders have therefore been advised to make necessary adjustments to their plans in line with the new date.
The university added that a comprehensive timetable for the convocation week would be released through its official communication channels in due course.
