The family of the late former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has announced arrangements for his burial.
In a statement signed by Abdullahi Ibrahim Idris on behalf of the family, the deceased’s remains are expected to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Friday.
The family said the Janazah prayer would be held at the Abuja National Mosque, after which his remains would be laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja in accordance with Islamic rites.
According to the statement, the burial arrangement was made in accordance with the personal wishes of the late former governor.
The family expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other Nigerians for their prayers, condolences and expressions of support following the former governor’s death.
Ibrahim Idris served as Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012.
