The Kogi State Government has commenced activities for the 2026 Civil Service Week with a medical outreach aimed at promoting the health and wellbeing of civil servants across the state.
The Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, Esq., who officially declared the exercise open in Lokoja, described the initiative as a key component of the celebration, stressing that the wellbeing of workers is essential to effective and efficient public service delivery.
The 2026 Civil Service Week is being celebrated under the theme, “Digital Transformation, a Panacea for Better Civil Service Delivery.”
Hajiya Musa explained that although the theme focuses on digital transformation, innovation and improved government processes, the success of such reforms ultimately depends on a healthy, motivated and productive workforce.
She noted that healthy civil servants would be better positioned to discharge their official responsibilities with greater energy and effectiveness.
The Head of Service commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, for providing the medical equipment, drugs and other materials required for the successful conduct of the outreach.
She also appreciated the medical personnel and other stakeholders whose contributions made the exercise possible.
Hajiya Musa urged civil servants to take full advantage of the outreach by undergoing medical checks, seeking professional medical advice and adhering to recommendations from health professionals.
She encouraged workers to make regular medical examinations, healthy living and preventive healthcare part of their lifestyles beyond the Civil Service Week.
According to her, the week-long celebration would also provide an opportunity for civil servants to reflect on their responsibilities, share experiences, strengthen their commitment to public service and engage with ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Civil Service for improved performance.
She thereafter formally declared the 2026 Civil Service Week Medical Outreach open.
