The Kogi State Government has congratulated Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi on his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, representing the North Central geopolitical zone.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the government described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Ocholi’s distinguished record of service, academic excellence, professional competence, and unwavering commitment to national development.
The statement noted that Dr. Ocholi’s extensive experience in public administration, scientific research, policy engagement, and community development has equipped him with the expertise, integrity, and vision needed to make meaningful contribution to the advancement of tertiary education in Nigeria.
The government added that his expertise and wealth of experience will further strengthen the Board’s efforts in driving reforms and promoting sustainable development in the nation’s higher education sector.
The state government also commended President Tinubu for appointing another qualified son of Kogi State to a strategic national position, describing the decision as a reflection of the President’s confidence in competence and his administration’s commitment to assembling capable Nigerians to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.
It further expressed pride that Dr. Ocholi, a distinguished indigene of Oganenigwu in Dekina Local Government Area, would bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to bear in shaping policies and programmes aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s tertiary education system through TETFund.
According to the statement, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed confidence that Dr. Ocholi would justify the trust reposed in him by serving with diligence, patriotism, and excellence.
The governor also wished the new TETFund Board member a successful tenure and assured him of the support and goodwill of the Kogi State government.
