CUSTECH Expels Two Students, Rusticates Four Over Misconduct

The Management of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, has expelled two students over alleged involvement in same-sex intimate conduct and rusticated four others for one academic session for fighting, as part of efforts to uphold discipline on campus.

The disciplinary measures were approved at the 31st Regular Meeting of the University Senate after it considered recommendations submitted by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.

According to disciplinary letters signed by the Deputy Registrar, Academics, Mr. Eli Usman, the sanctions were imposed in line with the provisions of the University’s Students’ Handbook, Second Edition, as amended in 2025.

The university said the two students found culpable of engaging in same-sex intimate conduct were expelled, while four others from the Departments of Microbiology, Biology and Biochemistry were rusticated for one academic session over their involvement in separate fighting incidents.

The institution said it is committed to enforcing its regulations and maintaining discipline, order and a peaceful environment conducive to teaching, learning and research.
