Gov. Ododo Mourns Kogi APC Chairman, Oyewole Solomon

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has expressed condolences to the family and people of Aduge Community in Ijumu Local Government Area following the death of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Divisional Chairman, Hon. Oyewole Solomon.

The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, visited the community on Monday to commiserate with the bereaved family and residents over the loss.

Ododo described the death of Solomon as a painful loss to his family, the community, the APC and Kogi State, noting that the deceased was a committed party member who contributed to strengthening the party at the grassroots.

The Governor also described Solomon as someone who was personally close to him and assured the family that his administration would continue to support them during the difficult period.

He prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant the family and the people of Aduge the strength to bear the loss.

Ododo further assured the community that Solomon’s death would not affect the government’s attention to Aduge, expressing confidence that another capable leader would emerge to serve the people.

He urged residents to remain peaceful throughout the burial ceremonies and assured them that the concerns of the community would continue to receive government attention.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Olu of Aduge, His Royal Highness Oba J.B.O. Aladuge, who commended Governor Ododo for visiting the community.

The monarch described the late APC chairman as a devoted son of Aduge and appealed to the Governor to consider upgrading the traditional stool, which he said had remained a Third Class stool since 2006.

Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole, and the Director-General of the Kogi State Utility, Infrastructure Management and Compliance Agency, Alhaji Taofiq Isah, also appealed to the Governor to support the bereaved family and help cushion the impact of the loss.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Emmanuel Oyewale thanked Governor Ododo for standing by them during their period of grief. He appealed to the government to continue supporting the family, noting that the late Solomon was the family’s breadwinner.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya Farouk; Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Rt. Hon. Momoh Rabiu Isiaka; Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon. Aboh Ibrahim; APC candidate for Ofu State Constituency, Hon. Isah Umaru; and other government officials.
