The NFSS has deployed personnel across all 21 local government areas of Kogi State to patrol forests, arrest criminals, and work closely with the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to ensure that offenders are prosecuted. Commander Monday commended the state leadership’s significant investment in security, noting that it has played a crucial role in curbing crime and enhancing safety in the region.

The commander also praised the governor’s appointment of experienced security professionals, such as Commodore Jerry Omodara (retd.) as Special Adviser on Security Matters, and Air Vice Marshal Umar Omeiza (retd.) as Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Security Trust Fund. These appointments demonstrate the state government’s commitment to tackling crime and fostering a secure environment for socio-economic growth.

Commander Monday expressed optimism that the NFSS will soon receive legal backing once the bill establishing the service is signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This would grant the organization the necessary legitimacy to operate more effectively and empower officers to carry out their duties with full authority.
