The White House has blocked CNN from travelling aboard Air Force One with President Donald Trump on his Saturday trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, for a college football game, according to multiple reports.

The decision, announced on Friday night through a White House schedule, did not list CNN or any other television network in the rotating press pool that typically travels with the president.

The spot originally intended for CNN will instead go to Real America’s Voice News, a conservative outlet, while other reports noted the “Secondary TV” slot was assigned to Lindell TV, a pro-Trump network run by Trump ally Mike Lindell.

The move comes just a week after Trump sought to ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, accusing the outlets of providing only negative coverage of him.

A federal judge, U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly, ordered the White House to temporarily restore the outlets’ access as litigation continues, though several journalists were intermittently blocked and had press passes confiscated despite the ruling.

CNN had briefly served as part of the pool on Friday, covering Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the National Archives before being cut out of Saturday’s travel arrangements entirely.

Earlier in the week, the top five U.S. broadcast networks ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox and NBC made a rare joint move to halt pool coverage of the White House in solidarity with CNN, issuing a statement arguing that the public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government, and that no administration should restrict a news organisation over its reporting.

No outlet was listed as replacing CNN for Saturday’s trip, meaning there will be no television pool coverage of the president’s travel.

CNN declined to comment when reached Friday, and the White House did not respond to a request for comment
