The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Prof. Salihu Sanusi Avidime, has approved a ₦5,000 reduction in hostel accommodation fees payable by students.
The reduction followed a unanimous decision by the Polytechnic’s Principal Officers and is aimed at easing the financial burden on students while improving access to hostel accommodation.
In a statement signed by the Acting Coordinator, Directorate of Public Relations and Protocols, John Amos Onimisi, the institution said the hostel fee previously fixed at ₦30,000 has been reduced to ₦25,000, while the ₦25,000 fee has been reduced to ₦20,000.
The new rates are now applicable to students, providing additional financial relief for those seeking accommodation within the Polytechnic.
Meanwhile, the School Fees Payment and Hostel Fees Payment services are now available on the students’ portal, allowing students to access the services and complete their payments online.
Students have been advised to log on to the Polytechnic’s official portal to access the available payment services.
The Polytechnic said the fee reduction further reflects Prof. Avidime’s administration’s commitment to students’ welfare and its efforts to ease challenges affecting their academic experience.
The Management also reaffirmed its commitment to implementing initiatives that promote students’ welfare, academic experience and overall wellbeing within the institution.
