MTN Restores Network After Disruption, Apologises to Subscribers

MTN Nigeria has restored its network services following a disruption on Thursday that affected calls, internet access and other services.

The telecommunications company confirmed the restoration through its official communication channels and apologised to subscribers who experienced difficulties accessing its services.

It also advised customers who continued to experience connectivity problems to restart their devices.

The disruption was reported across several states, with subscribers taking to social media to report the outage.

However, MTN did not disclose the cause of the disruption, how long it lasted or the number of customers affected.

Although power failures, fibre-optic cable damage and vandalism have affected telecommunications services in other instances, no confirmed information has linked any of these factors to Thursday’s disruption.

The outage has prompted calls on social media for telecom operators to provide timely explanations when service disruptions occur and communicate measures being taken to prevent future incidents.

MTN has yet to disclose the specific cause of the disruption or indicate whether affected subscribers would receive compensation.
