The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, has been inducted into the Owe Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to educational development and human capital growth in Kogi State.
The honour was bestowed on Jones by the Kabba Development Union during the 2026 Kabba Day Gala Night held in Kabba, Kogi State, as part of the annual cultural celebration.
The organisers said the recognition was in appreciation of his efforts towards expanding access to quality education, strengthening educational institutions and implementing policies that create more opportunities for young people across the state.
During his tenure as Commissioner for Education, Jones has overseen several reforms aimed at improving the education sector and making human capital development a key driver of Kogi State’s long-term economic and social growth.
The Kabba Development Union noted that his induction reflects the importance of recognising public servants whose contributions have made meaningful impacts on their communities and society at large.
The Owe Hall of Fame is an initiative dedicated to celebrating individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service, leadership and significant contributions to the Owe-speaking community and humanity.
