Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has met with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from Idah Local Government Area to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Governor received the delegation led by the Chairman of the State Forum of Former Commissioners, Prince Salifu Sanni Ogu, on Sunday at the Government House, Lokoja.
The delegation comprised former and serving commissioners, members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, and former and serving local government chairmen who served under the APC administrations.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Ogu said the visit was aimed at promoting unity among party members and strengthening the APC’s structure in Idah ahead of the elections.
He said the stakeholders would engage political leaders and party members across the 10 wards of the local government to improve grassroots mobilisation.
Ogu said the group was also working to secure support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ododo and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
“Our agenda is to put our house in order ahead of the 2027 general elections. We want everybody to be on board so that we can deliver 100 percent support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and all APC candidates,” he said.
He added that the stakeholders would return to their respective communities to begin the engagement.
