Victor Osimhen makes history with a stunning performance in the Turkish Cup final, netting two goals to secure Galatasaray’s 3–0 victory over Trabzonspor and boosting his chances of clinching the coveted CAF Player of the Year award.

The game began with a burst of energy as Barış Yılmaz netted the opening goal just five minutes in, set up by Yunus Akgün. Osimhen doubled the lead shortly after halftime, finishing with precision from a tight angle on the right, once again thanks to a pinpoint Akgün assist.

Osimhen struck again later in the match, capping off a swift counterattack with another expertly taken goal.

With the brace, Osimhen took his season tally to 35 goals across all competitions, surpassing the record set by Brazilian striker Mario Jardel in the 1999–2000 season.

This makes Osimhen the highest scoring foreign player in a single season in Galatasaray’s storied history, a record that had stood for 24 years.
