FIFA Club World Cup: Chelsea Cruise Past Esperance with 3-0 Victory

Chelsea FC advanced to the next round of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after a confident 3-0 win over Esperance de Tunis at the Lincoln Financial Field, in front of a crowd of 32,967 spectators.

The English Premier League side dominated proceedings with three goals across both halves.

Defender Tosin Adarabioyo broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time with a powerful header, putting Chelsea 1-0 ahead. Moments later, recent signing Liam Delap doubled the lead with a clinical finish, sending Chelsea into the break with a 2-0 advantage.

Chelsea maintained their momentum into the second half. Christopher Nkunku narrowly missed a chance to extend the lead in the 58th minute, following an intricate passing move. Noni Madueke also came close in the 63rd minute, but his effort failed to find the back of the net.

A penalty awarded to Chelsea late in the game was overturned by VAR, sparking brief controversy. However, Tyrique George sealed the victory in the seventh minute of stoppage time, finishing off a swift counterattack to make it 3-0.
