Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has restated his administration’s support for initiatives aimed at promoting development and inclusion among youth across the state.
The Governor stated this during the official commissioning of the OJN Foundation Secretariat in Lokoja.
Governor Ododo who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, described the initiative as a valuable contribution to the growth and engagement of young citizens, emphasizing that the government remains committed to supporting programs that create meaningful opportunities for Kogi Youths.
In his words, “This center represents the kind of partnership and initiative we want to see where government and individuals work together to provide opportunities for our youth.”
In his remarks, the founder of the center who is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths, Hon. Oladele John Nihi expressed appreciation to the Governor for his support and announced the launch of a ₦500 million Accelerated Program for Youth Development (APYD) Fund.
He explained that the fund is designed to expand the reach of developmental programs and deepen their impact across communities in the state.
“This hub is not just a physical structure, it is a vision brought to life. It is a space where transformation happens and futures are shaped,” Nihi said.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the OJN Foundation’s Board of Trustees, chaired by himself and supported by Hon. Samuel Kadri, along with the presence of representatives from the National Youth Council of Nigeria and its Elders Forum, led by Elder Haruna Opotu.
The newly unveiled facility, known as the Kogi Youth Hub, was launched during the 6th edition of the OJN Annual Symposium, which also marked the 37th birthday of the founder.
