Bello Mourns with Governor Ododo, Hails Late Father’s Enduring Legacy

Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has commiserated with his successor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, following the death of his father, Alhaji Momoh Sani. The elder statesman passed away at the age of 83, leaving behind a reputation for wisdom and integrity that resonated across the state.

In his condolence message, Bello described the late patriarch not only as a father to the Governor but also as a guiding figure whose values shaped the leadership qualities now embodied by his son.

He noted that the deceased’s quiet sacrifices and commitment to community life remain an example for others to emulate.

“Alhaji Momoh Sani was more than a parent; he was a moral compass and stabilising force. His humility, wisdom, and dedication are clearly reflected in the way Governor Ododo serves the people of Kogi today,” Bello said.

The former Governor stressed that true legacy is not measured in wealth or possessions but in the values instilled in one’s children and community.

According to him, the late Sani lived a fulfilled life, attained honourable old age, and left behind a respected family name that continues to command admiration.

Bello further expressed his personal grief, stating that he considered the deceased as a father figure as well. He urged Governor Ododo to draw strength from the knowledge that his father’s principles live on through his own service and leadership.

Praying for the repose of the elder statesman, Bello asked Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus, while extending heartfelt solidarity to the Sani family during their moment of loss.
