They lauded the late patriarch’s contributions to community development and the values he instilled in his children, one of whom is now the leader of the state.

In his remarks, Governor Ododo thanked the Forum for the visit, describing it as a show of solidarity by the members of the forum.

He recalled his time working with the DLGs while serving as Auditor-General for Local Governments acknowledging the positive working relationship and support he enjoyed from them during his tenure.

“I sincerely appreciate your gesture, your support then and now strengthens the administration’s resolve to deepen grassroots governance.”

The Governor also used the occasion to express gratitude to his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Bello, for laying a solid foundation for grassroots development and ensuring governance was brought closer to the people.

Governor Ododo further assured the DLGs of his continued support, stressing that local governments remain vital to the development agenda of the administration.

“We are all mourning, and I feel your sympathy deeply.”

“But even in this moment of grief, I urge you all to continue working sincerely with your respective local government chairmen. Collaboration and unity are key to meaningful progress at the grassroots,” he added.
