First Lady Oluremi Tinubu says N20.4 billion has been raised to complete the National Library through the “Oluremi@65 Education Fund,” less than a week after its launch.

‎Speaking at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Tuesday, Mrs Tinubu explained that the fund, inaugurated on September 18 as part of her 65th birthday celebration, continues to attract contributions. She urged well-wishers to channel gifts into donations for the project.

‎“This will be the best birthday present I have ever received. My love for education informed my decision to dedicate my birthday to this worthy cause,” she said.

It was expected to be completed within two years but remains unfinished nearly two decades later, with revised costs now exceeding N120bn.
