Akuta Women Association Marks 18th Anniversary, Endorses Gov. Ododo for Second Term

The Akuta Women Association Worldwide, a socio-cultural group under the Akuta Clan, has formally endorsed Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for re-election in 2027.

The endorsement was made during the association’s 18th Anniversary celebration held over the weekend in Okene.

The President General of the Association, Mrs. Victoria Mayaki stated that their decision was driven by Governor Ododo’s numerous achievements, as well as his administration’s recognition of women through empowerment initiatives and inclusive governance.

She highlighted the association’s achievements in women empowerment, educational development, and fostering unity among members of the Akuta clan.

First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Acharu Okpanachi, commended the Akuta Women for their milestone celebration.

She noted that the event marked her first official engagement with women since her redeployment to the ministry and pledged her readiness to continue to promote the advancement of women across the state.

Mrs. Okpanachi also expressed appreciation to members of the association for their endorsement of Governor Ododo, assuring them that both the Ministry of Women Affairs and the Office of the First Lady remain committed to supporting women in the state.

The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah, praised the association for its continued efforts toward community development and reaffirmed the commitment of the state government under Governor Ododo to empowering women and supporting grassroots development.
