Baby Factory Busted in Ondo as Police Rescue Five Pregnant Girls, Infant

The Ondo State Police Command has uncovered a baby factory and human trafficking ring operating in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, following a tip-off from a 17-year-old pregnant girl who managed to escape from the facility.

The teenager, identified as Vivian Peter, was reportedly lured to the premises under the guise of securing a job but was instead confined and exploited as part of the illicit baby-selling network.

Her escape and subsequent report to the police triggered a swift operation that exposed the grim trade.

During the raid, officers from the Ore Division and the Command’s Gender Unit rescued five pregnant girls and a baby boy believed to have been earmarked for sale.

Investigations revealed that the traffickers sold newborns for between ₦400,000 and ₦600,000 depending on the gender of the child.

The police spokesperson, SP Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed that the principal suspect, identified as Ada Clement, and her accomplices have confessed to operating the baby factory.

One of the victims who had already delivered is currently receiving medical care at the General Hospital in Ore, while others have been taken into protective custody by the state government.

SP Olayinka reiterated the Command’s resolve to dismantle human trafficking syndicates and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation, assuring that the suspects will face the full weight of the law once investigations are concluded.
