“Big shout out to pastor Lawrence Oyor and that warrior congregation of David Generation Church. See what the Lord has done with our simple obedience. Of a truth, we shift the culture,” he wrote.

Shallipopi’s Laho secured the the second spot on the music video chart, while With You, a collaboration between Davido and Omah Lay, ranked third.

In the creators’ category, actress Omoni Oboli was named Nigeria’s top creator for 2025. Ibrahim Yekini’s Itelediconstudio and Uchenna Mbunabo TV, owned by filmmaker Uchenna Mbunabo, ranked second and third, respectively.

YouTube’s head of music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Addy Awofisayo, described 2025 as a year of “explosive musical talent and captivating storytellers,” noting that Nollywood and Nigerian creators continued to expand their global influence.

She revealed that 70% of total watch time for Nigerian content came from international audience, underscoring the growing global appetite for local storytelling.

Awofisayo added that YouTube viewing on televisions in Nigeria surged by nearly 40% this year, highlighting the platform’s ongoing investment in training, partnerships, and creator support.

“Nigerian content is reaching audiences farther than ever. Over 70 per cent of watch time on content produced by Nigerian channels now comes from viewers outside the country,” she said.

“Television screens have become the new frontier, with watch time on YouTube content via TVs in Nigeria growing nearly 40 per cent in 2025.

“YouTube’s success in Nigeria is rooted in years of investment in capacity building. We remain committed to equipping creators with the skills to build sustainable media businesses through extensive masterclasses, tailored workshops on monetisation policies, and strategic partnerships.”
