Reigning champions Paris St-Germain overcame 10-man AS Monaco to secure a place in the Champions League last 16.
Monaco struck first just before the break, as Mamadou Coulibaly slipped a precise pass through to Maghnes Akliouche, who calmly finished first-time into the bottom corner via the post.
The visitors had an earlier chance to go ahead, with Akliouche delivering a dangerous ball into the box, but Coulibaly’s attempt sailed well over the crossbar.
The turning point came shortly before the hour mark when Coulibaly was shown a second yellow card for a challenge on Achraf Hakimi, leaving Monaco down to 10 men just minutes after his initial booking.
PSG quickly capitalised, drawing level almost instantly through Marquinhos, who finished from Desire Doue’s low delivery.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then put the holders in front in the 66th minute, reacting quickest to fire home from close range after Hakimi’s effort had been pushed into his path by goalkeeper Philipp Kohn.
Jordan Teze pulled one back deep into stoppage time with a low finish, but it proved to be only a late consolation for Monaco.
PSG will now face either Chelsea FC or FC Barcelona in the next round, with the draw set to take place on Friday.
