Kogi NSCDC Deploys 1,803 Officers Ahead of Eid-el-Adha Festival

The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,803 officers across the state for the Eid-el-Adha Celebration.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Aliyu, State Commandant of the Corps, Ebenezer Aletan, said the deployment is to ensure strong security across the state during the festive period.

The Commandant noted that the deployment was in line with the directive of the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, adding that it would ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

He stressed that the personnel are to be strategically assigned to worship centers, recreational facilities, marketplaces, motor parks, critical infrastructure and other vulnerable points across the 21 local government areas of the state.

Aletan further directed the area commanders and divisional officers to ensure effective coordination, professionalism and active discharge of their duties.

According to him, the command remains committed to working in synergy with other security agencies to maintain peace before, during and after the celebration.

The commandant urged personnel to engage community stakeholders in intelligence gathering and sustain surveillance to prevent security threats.

He further added that Commanders and all Special Forces are to be deployed to achieve a watertight security for maximum protection of lives and properties, including all critical national assets and infrastructure.

He extended Eid-el-Adha greetings to Muslim faithful, praying for peace and national tranquility.
