Gov. Ododo Unveils Ambitious Industrial Hub and Pharmaceutical Venture in Kogi

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has officially flagged off the construction of the Mary Ogwuche Industrial City Park and a state-of-the-art cleaning products factory by Johnpaul Pharmaceuticals Limited in Inele, Olamaboro Local Government Area.

This bold initiative marks a significant step in transforming the state’s industrial landscape through strategic public-private partnerships. During the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, Governor Ododo reiterated his vision of evolving Kogi from a Civil Servant State into an industrious one.

He emphasized that innovative partnerships and targeted investments, similar to the recent multi-million naira gas company project in Ajaokuta, are key to driving sustainable development and fostering economic self-reliance.

The industrial park is designed to be a vibrant ecosystem featuring cutting-edge manufacturing facilities, dedicated zones for agro-allied ventures, and innovation centers. Simultaneously, Johnpaul Pharmaceuticals Limited is set to establish its FMCG cleaning products factory within the park, positioning the venture as a catalyst for local manufacturing and regional product accessibility.

Represented by the Executive Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Comrade Ameh Williams, Governor Ododo noted that the project is expected to create over 6,000 jobs and significantly boost the local government’s internally generated revenue.

“This initiative is for the entire state and country, and we are committed to providing all necessary support to fast-track its completion,” he declared.

From the corporate side, Prince Jacob Aminu Momoh, the Group Managing Director and CEO of Jamub Group of Companies hailed the project as a long-awaited realization of their vision for Kogi East.

He described the industrial park as a carefully planned hub where industry, innovation, and community converge, a space that will not only attract investors but also provide world-class infrastructure and living facilities for its residents.

Community leaders have also expressed their strong support. In his goodwill message, the Attah of Igala, represented by the Ejeh of Dekina, praised the project for its potential to empower local youth and reduce criminality by promoting self-reliance.
