Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property of people in the state.
Governor Ododo gave the assurance during a meeting with members of the Vigilante Group and Professional Hunters in Lokoja on Tuesday.
Governor Ododo who emphasized that security is a fundamental pillar of his administration’s agenda, expressed appreciation to members of the Vigilante Group and Professional Hunters for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining peace and security in the state.
He acknowledged their untiring commitment to safeguarding the community and highlighted the positive outcomes resulting from the government’s substantial investment in overhauling the security architecture.
Earlier in his address, the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (Retired) emphasized the Governor’s commitment to enhancing security and how it serves to deter criminal activities in the state.
In his address, the coordinator of Professional Hunters in the state Professor Abdullahi Yau, assured Governor Ododo of the group’s steadfastness and collaboration with other security agencies to eradicate criminal activities in Kogi State.
In his remarks, Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bethrand Onuoha, praised the efforts of the Professional Hunters for their efficiency and their cooperative approach with conventional security forces in fighting criminal elements in the state.
A new group of Professional Hunters have been deployed in the state for over two months, working alongside existing security framework to enhance safety and security measures in the state.
