Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reinforced his commitment to grassroots engagement through a Ramadan Iftar program aimed at fostering inclusive development in the state.

The three-day Iftar Timeout event took place across Ogaminana Central, Idanuhua, and Uhucheba wards in the Ogaminana region of Adavi Local Government Area. The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ismaila Isah, emphasized that the Iftar gatherings bring together government officials and community members to break their Ramadan fast in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, embodying Governor Ododo’s policy of connecting governance directly with the people at the grassroots.

Isah noted that the Iftar Timeout initiative goes beyond just sharing meals; it is an opportunity to listen to the needs and aspirations of the people. This initiative fulfills one of Governor Ododo’s campaign promises to bridge the gap between the government and the people.

He stressed, “We need to feel the pulse of our communities so we can relay timely feedback on their expectations to the government.” Isah also added that such engagements help strengthen trust in the administration while ensuring people stay informed about government policies and programs.

Alhaji Isa Ozi Salami, the Ohi Otenyiete of Ebira Land, praised Governor Ododo’s ongoing commitment to tackling Kogi’s infrastructural challenges and commended Isah’s efforts in promoting effective communication. He emphasized that when the public is well-informed about government activities, they are more likely to support the administration.
