Oluremi Tinubu Honored as ‘Woman of The Year’ at Independent Awards 2024

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been recognized as the ‘Woman of The Year’ at the Independent Awards 2024.

The award, presented at a gala night in Lagos, acknowledges her outstanding contributions to national development. In her acceptance speech, Tinubu dedicated the award to Nigerian women and youths, praising their tireless efforts towards the country’s growth and progress. She described them as Nigeria’s unsung heroes.

The Independent Newspaper Awards celebrate landmark achievements in various sectors, including politics, entertainment, business, education, and more. This year’s event honored 36 individuals, organizations, and government officials for their contributions to Nigeria’s development.

Some notable awardees include Governor Seyi Makinde, recognized as Independent Man of the Year, and Chief Bisi Akande, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award 2024.

In the entertainment category, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, known as Kiekie, was awarded Social Media Influencer of the Year for her impact on the industry.

The business sector was also recognized, with Otunba Mike Adenuga, Chairman of Globacom, receiving an award for his contributions.

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra was awarded Governor of the Year 2024 (Urban Renewal), while Gov. Bassey Otu of Cross River won for Economic Transformation.

The event also saw Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State receive the Governor of the Year 2024 (Solid Minerals Development) award.
