Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo firmly demanded a renewed commitment to unity and generosity among politicians, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a powerful address to members of the Kogi State House of Assembly at an Iftar event, Governor Ododo made it explicit that past differences are no longer acceptable; politicians must come together and actively collaborate for the development of the state.

He sharply reminded everyone that they originate from the same political framework established by former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and that they must unite in purpose to achieve meaningful progress.

Governor Ododo underscored that generosity must drive their actions throughout Ramadan and challenged politicians to adopt this value as a non-negotiable principle in their service.

He praised the lawmakers for their efforts and stressed the necessity for them to strengthen their collaboration to propel Kogi State toward growth and development.

The Governor insisted that lawmakers must rally decisively behind the Speaker and other principal officers, emphasizing that passionate, unified action is essential for unlocking the full potential of the state. He asserted that Kogi is endowed with valuable resources, and all politicians have to work together to effectively leverage these assets for the state’s advancement.

Earlier, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, expressed gratitude to the Governor for hosting the Iftar event. The Speaker commended Governor Ododo for upholding the principles of the APC and continuing the policies of his predecessor, affirming that the decision to support Ododo as the party’s candidate in the last gubernatorial election was a well-informed and strategic choice.
