The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) says the supreme court has affirmed the conviction and sentence of two human traffickers for trafficking, procurement for prostitution and organising foreign travel to promote prostitution. The agency disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the apex court, in a unanimous judgment delivered on May 8, 2026, upheld the conviction and sentence of one of the traffickers identified as Titilayo Folorunso. Kogi State Government has commenced inspection of ongoing renovation projects under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) programme. Speaking during the inspection exercise, Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones said the inspection was to ensure that contractors strictly adhere to approved specifications and standards in line with the agreement guiding the projects. The Commissioner also said that quality delivery remains a key priority of the present administration in its drive to reposition the educational sector in the state.
