The Kogi State Government has activated a coordinated security operation to safeguard worship centres, schools and vulnerable public places across the state. This followed the directive by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo following recent attacks on worshippers and schools in neighbouring states. The Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Abdullahi Adamu disclosed this after a meeting with heads of security agencies to review security situation in the state capital. The Kogi State Government has commenced extensive road repairs and enhanced security operations to ensure smooth and safe travel for residents and visitors during the forthcoming festive season. The State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), disclosed this while on an inspection tour of major points along the Abuja–Lokoja highway. He stated that 7 kilometres of road have already been opened, with an additional 9 kilometres expected to be completed by December 10.
