Governor Ododo Commends Aiyedatiwa’s Win, Lauds APC’s Strategy

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Governor-elect Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State following his landslide victory in the recent gubernatorial election. Representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aiyedatiwa secured a commanding lead with 366,781 votes, defeating his main opponent, Honourable Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who obtained 117,845 votes.

Governor Ododo, who served as the Deputy Chairman of the Election Management and Strategy Committee for the APC’s Ondo Governorship Campaign Council, highlighted the effective campaign strategies and meticulous planning executed by the APC leadership. He described the victory as “a product of hard work, resilience, and strategic planning” by the party’s members, underscoring the determination to retain control in Ondo State.

Reflecting on the election outcome, Governor Ododo praised the peaceful conduct of voters, especially noting the participation of both indigenous and non-indigenous communities. He expressed gratitude for their orderliness, saying, “The support from the people of Ondo was overwhelming. Their peaceful conduct before, during, and after the election was a testament to their commitment to democracy.”

Governor Ododo also shared his confidence in Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, stating, “We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa. He has been tested, and we trust him to continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo State.” He further emphasized that the governor-elect is expected to build on the existing infrastructure and enhance social welfare programs, as well as maintain the security of lives and property across the state.

Addressing the next phase of governance, Ododo urged the residents of Ondo to rally behind the newly elected governor, stating, “As Governor Aiyedatiwa prepares to begin his full term in February 2025, it is crucial for the people of Ondo State to support his administration. Their continued backing will ensure sustained development and progress.”

Governor Ododo commended the APC’s campaign team, attributing the victory to a well-coordinated grassroots effort and effective mobilization strategies. He noted, “This victory is not just a win for the APC, but also a clear indication of the party’s growing acceptance and popularity among the people of Ondo State.”

He further assured that the new administration would prioritize projects that align with the developmental vision of the APC, focusing on sustainable growth and the overall welfare of Ondo’s residents. “The mandate given to Governor Aiyedatiwa is a call to action. It is a chance to build on the legacy of progress and ensure that every citizen feels the impact of good governance,” Governor Ododo remarked.
